Jazz Pharmaceuticals to Acquire Actio Biosciences in Up to $1.32B Deal for Rare Epilepsy Treatment

Dublin, Ireland, August 10, 2026 (Yahoo Finance) -- Jazz Pharmaceuticals has agreed to acquire privately held Actio Biosciences in a transaction valued at up to $1.32 billion. The deal adds ABS-1230, an investigational therapy being developed for KCNT1-related epilepsy, a rare inherited disorder that can cause severe seizures and developmental complications in children. The acquisition expands Jazz’s neuroscience portfolio and strengthens its focus on developing treatments for serious neurological conditions with limited therapeutic options.
