PARAGONIX: Cardiac Transport System

In the mission-critical world of transplantation, where there is no margin for error, Paragonix delivers the most advanced technologies to support transplant teams around the world every day. Their flagship product, the Paragonix SherpaPak™ Cardiac Transport System is also the only commercially available FDA-cleared and CE-marked medical device for heart transportation.

The Paragonix SherpaPak CTS incorporates a novel nested canister system in concert with proprietary thermal cooling to provide unprecedented physical and thermal protection for donor hearts. All temperatures are monitored throughout the organ journey via a Bluetooth connected monitoring app.

Tyto Care: Remote Stethoscope Access

Tyto Care’s solution is the only all-in-one remote medical examination solution allowing physicians to remotely connect with quarantined or symptomatic patients in hospital wards or at home to perform remote medical exams, including lung exams, which are key for monitoring COVID-19.

Most hospitals in Israel, including the renowned Sheba Medical Center, are currently working with Tyto Care to examine patients in their quarantined wards, as well as to monitor patients in isolation at home. This allows doctors to gain the vital clinical data they require to monitor the situation from a safe distance, minimizing physical contact and reducing the heavy load on ERs and clinics.

BioIntelliSense: BioButton for Covid Screening

The BioButton™ wearable medical-grade monitoring and BioMobile™ daily screening surveys establish COVID-19 risk status with ‘Cleared’ and ‘Not Cleared’ notifications before leaving for work or school. BioButton’s continuous temperature and vital signs monitoring, combined with advanced analytics, enables the BioButton to identify statistically meaningful trends and screen for early potential COVID-19 infection.

VIRTUAL INCISION: Miniaturizing Robotics

This innovation from a company cofounded by engineering professor Shane Farritor seeks to transform surgeries with miniaturized surgical robots. Bringing the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to patients everywhere, Virtual Incision is committed to making Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) accessible and cost-effective so that millions more patients can benefit. The MIRA platform weighs only two pounds, can be moved and set up easily, and eliminates the need for dedicated hospital space or infrastructure.

OrthoPediatrics

OrthoPediatrics Corp. (“OrthoPediatrics” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq:KIDS), a company focused exclusively on advancing the field of pediatric orthopedics, today announced that it has surpassed two significant procedure milestones for its ApiFix® technology – an exciting alternative for the treatment of progressive adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Over 500 ApiFix procedures have now been performed treating young AIS patients at centers in the USA, Canada, Europe, Israel, and Asia with long-term clinical follow-up now exceeding nine years.

The ApiFix procedure offers select AIS patients a less invasive, motion-preserving option for achieving curve correction – without the permanence of fusion. The ApiFix system’s novel approach to correcting spinal deformity is a welcome medical advancement that has the ability to disrupt the continuum of care for scoliosis treatment in certain pediatric patients. Its elegant design and biomechanical considerations combined with the simplistic posterior approach is unmatched.
